Did you perform the Cruise Control System Check?

  1. Disconnect connector C266 at the steering column.
  2. Connect a J 39200 DMM, set on ohms, between connector C266, pins A13 for CKT 41 (BRN) pigtail wire and A15 for the CKT 87 (GRY/BLK) pigtail wire.
  3. Place the cruise control switch to the R/A position.
  4. Observe the DMM.

Is there continuity?

  1. Disconnect connector C1 at the powertrain control module (PCM).
  2. Connect a J 39200 DMM, set on ohms, between the PCM connector C1 pin D10 and connector C266 pin A15 for CKT 87 (GRY/BLK).

Is there continuity?

Go to Step 5

  1. Inspect for an open in the CKT 87 (GRY/BLK) pigtail wire in the steering column Repair as necessary. Refer to Wiring Repairs .
  2. If no opens were found, replace the cruise control switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle .

Replace the PCM. Refer to PCM Replacement/Programming.

Repair the open in the CKT 87 (GRY/BLK) wire between the connector C266 and the PCM. Refer to Wiring Repairs .
