Problem

Action

Air in the fluid.
  1. Repair the leak.
  2. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Loss of fluid due to internal pump leakage.
  1. Repair the leak.
  2. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Hose or air leakage in the reservoir line.
  1. Repair the leak.
  2. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Extremely cold temperatures will cause system aeration if the power steering fluid is low.
