Radio Speaker Amplifier Replacement Base
Removal Procedure
- Lower the glove box.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Use the following steps in order to remove the amplifier from
the bracket:
3.1. | Push the retention clip upward and in. |
3.2. | Rotate the amplifier. |
3.3. | Push the amplifier up in order to clear the amplifier mounting
bracket and the HVAC module. |
3.4. | Remove the amplifier. |
Installation Procedure
- Connect the amplifier
to the bracket by clipping the amplifier into place.
- Connect the electrical connectors.
- Inspect the system operation.

Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear quarter panel. Refer to
Rear Quarter Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side
, or to
Rear Quarter Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side
in
Interior Trim.
- Remove the four amplifier
retaining bolts (1).
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the amplifier from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the amplifier
to the subwoofer.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the amplifier retaining screws (1).
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).
- Connect the electrical connector.
- Install the rear quarter panel. Refer to
Rear Quarter Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side
, or to
Rear Quarter Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side
in
Interior Trim.

Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear quarter panel. Refer to
Rear Quarter Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side
, or to
Rear Quarter Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side
in
Interior Trim.
- Remove the amplifier retaining
bolts (2).
- Disconnect the electrical connector (1).
- Remove the amplifier from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the amplifier
to the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.

- Install the amplifier retaining bolts (2).
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 9.0 N·m (80 lb in)
- Connect the electrical connector (1).
- Install the rear quarter panel. Refer to
Rear Quarter Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side
, or to
Rear Quarter Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side
in
Interior Trim.
Radio Speaker Amplifier Replacement Escalade EXT
Removal Procedure
- Remove the floor console bezels. Refer to
Floor Console Bezel Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages and
Console.
- Remove the console bin. Refer to
Front Floor Console Compartment Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Remove the 4 amplifier
retaining screws (1).
- Disconnect the amplifier wire connector from the amplifier.
- Remove the top bracket.
- Lift the amplifier from the console bracket.
- Remove and discard the
four pushnuts (1).
Installation Procedure
- Install 4 new pushnuts
(1).
- Place the amplifier on the console bracket.
- Install the top bracket.
- Connect the wire connector to the amplifier.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.

- Install the 4 retaining screws.
Tighten
Tighten the 4 retaining screws to 3.4 N·m (30 lb in).
- Install the console bin. Refer to

Console.
- Install the floor console bezels. Refer to
Floor Console Bezel Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages and
Console.
