Front Brake Hose Replacement 1500 Series

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .

Fitting , Brake Pipe Front

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Tighten
25 N·m (18 lb ft)

Tip

    • Remove any dirt or debris from the brake pipe fitting.
    • Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
    • Use a backup wrench on the brake hose fitting when removing or installing the brake hose.

Tighten
9 N·m (80 lb in)

Tighten
9 N·m (80 lb in)

Bolt, Brake Hose to Caliper Front

Tighten
40 N·m (30 lb ft)

Gaskets, Brake Hose to Caliper (Qty: 2)

Tip

  1. Ensure the gaskets are not still attached to the brake caliper or hose.
  2. DO NOT reuse the copper gaskets. Install NEW gaskets.
  3. Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .

Tip

    • Remove any dirt or debris from the brake pipe fitting.
    • Use a backup wrench to hold the brake hose fitting when removing or installing the brake hose or pipe.
    • Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss or contamination.

Tip

Tip

    • During the removal and installation of the brake hose, DO NOT twist the brake hose.
    • Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
