Liftgate Trim Panel Plug - keywords door end gate lift

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

If the liftgate needs to be opened when there is an electrical failure a 1 1/16" hole needs to be drilled in the liftgate trim panel. After all repairs are complete this 1 1/16" hole must be plugged with a color keyed plug. Information regarding this procedure can be found in SI Document ID # 1736770.

Currently, these color keyed plugs are not available and the entire rear liftgate trim panel will need to be replaced.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
