2007 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe
2007 GMC Yukon
with Third Row Passenger Seat (RPO AW2 or AS3)



This bulletin is being revised to add procedure steps and part numbers. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 07-08-50-019 (Section 08 -- Body and Accessories).


Condition

Some customers may comment that the third row seats are hard to install.

Cause

This condition may be caused by a lower torque setting on the latch bolts, allowing the latch to move.

Correction

Loosen and retorque the seat latch bolts.

  1. Remove the seat.
  2. Remove the plastic cover from the bottom of the seat. Refer to Rear Seat Number 2 Cushion Panel Replacement in SI.
  3. Loosen the four bolts that retain the latch to the seat.

  4. Object Number: 1980947  Size: MF
  5. Retorque the bolts in sequence. Tighten the front bolts first and then the rear bolts as seen in the illustration above.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the latch bolts to 50-60 N·m (37-43 lb ft).

  7. Verify proper operation of the seat before installing the plastic cover. If the seat is still hard to install, replace the seat roller bar.

  8. Object Number: 2054421  Size: SH
  9. Remove the two torque bolts and replace the seat roller bar.
  10. Reinstall the plastic cover to the bottom of the seat. Refer to Rear Seat Number 2 Cushion Panel Replacement in SI.
