The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some customers may comment that the articulating running boards can not be extended for cleaning purposes with the doors closed.

Recommendation/Instructions:

The following procedure may be used to keep the Articulating Running Boards extended while cleaning or washing the vehicle.

  1. Open both front doors
  2. Have an adult-sized individual step on the rear portion of the left running board and have someone close the left front door.
  3. Wait 10 seconds and then step off the running board
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the right side.
  5. The running boards will stay extended until the doors are re-opened or the vehicle is driven over 5 MPH.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
