DEFINITION: The content theft deterrent (CTD) system will not ARM or DISARM properly.

Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle in Vehicle DTC Information

  1. Remove the keys from the ignition.
  2. Open the driver door.
  3. Observe the courtesy lamps.

Do the courtesy lamps illuminate?

Go to Step 3

Go to Courtesy Lamps Inoperative in Lighting Systems

  1. Open the driver window.
  2. Remove the keys from the ignition.
  3. Open the driver door.
  4. Lock the doors using the power door lock switch or the keyless entry transmitter.
  5. Observe the SECURITY indicator.

Does the SECURITY telltale begin flashing?

Go to Step 4

Go to Security Indicator Inoperative

  1. Close all of the doors.
  2. Important: Ensure that all the doors are closed. The content theft deterrent (CTD) system will not arm itself without all of the doors being closed.

  3. Observe the SECURITY indicator.

Does the SECURITY telltale turn OFF in about 30 seconds?

Go to Step 5

Go to Courtesy Lamps Always On in Lighting Systems

  1. Reach in and manually unlock the driver door.
  2. Open the driver door.

Do all of the alarm mode functions activate; exterior lights flash, and horn pulses?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 7

Disarm the CTD system by pressing the UNLOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter

Do all of the alarm mode functions stop?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Keyless Entry System Inoperative

Do the exterior lamps flash?

Go to Step 8

Go to Lights Inoperative in Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) Alarm Mode

Do the horns pulse?
