Service VME - Power Steering Pump Noise - keywords booster hose noise pressure

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

We have received some customer concern about a whine noise coming from the steering column area while turning the steering wheel in parking lots at low speed and/or while standing still. The noise can also be heard during normal driving conditions. The noise is caused by a resonance set-up in the power steering hose. New power steering inlet hose (part number 15098420) has been released to correct this situation. Do not replace the power steering pump because this will not correct the problem.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
