The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.
When the ignition key is turned off, all gauges are commanded to their lowest position. After the IPC goes asleep, the gauges may float up.
This is a normal operating characteristic and no repair attempts should be made. Air core technology is used for the analog gauges. Gauges on these clusters are commanded by the cluster to minimum scale upon turning the ignition key off. After the ignition key is turned off the cluster enters the off-awake power mode for approx. 2 minutes. At that point the cluster transitions to "off-asleep" mode and releases control of the air core gauges. Due to the weighted pointers, some of the gauges may have a tendency to drift/float back up. Note that if the door is opened or ignition key is removed the cluster will transition from the "off-asleep" mode to the "off-awake" mode and command the gauges to their lowest position again.
