Rear Floor Carpet Wet (Install Close Tolerance Rubber)

Some customers may comment that the rear floor carpet is wet.

The Mid-Gate seal may have kinks in the lower corners. Refer to the illustration above.

1. Partially remove the seal from the mid-gate.
2. Use a 150 mm (6 in) long, 13 mm (1/2 in) round close tolerance rubber.
3. Apply soap solution to the close tolerance rubber.
4. Install the close tolerance rubber in the seal.



5. Apply air to the seal in order to expand the seal and force the close tolerance rubber to the corner.
6. Apply light pressure to the seal in the corner so that the seal cannot go past the corner.
7. With assistance from a second technician, hold the seal in location and complete the procedure for the other side.

The round close tolerance rubber material may be purchased from KENT Automotive at 1-800-654-6333 (in Canada, 1-800-563-1717). This material is sold in bulk. There is enough material in one box to do approximately 25 vehicles.
