UM8 Navigation Radio Clock Does Not Keep Correct Time - kw reset navigation display no operation time

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

If there is a concern with the clock not keeping proper time on vehicles with navigation radio (UM8), please make sure the radio is set up properly.

The navigation radio has to be set up for the proper "Time Zone" (Pacific, Mountain, Central, or Eastern), as well as, "Daylight Savings Time" (On or Off). You can also turn on "Auto GPS Update", which will update the clock every time the Ignition is turned to "accy" or "run". For information on how to set up the clock, refer to the "Navigation System Owners Manual Supplement" or SI, example Doc ID 1276511. Note: On 2003 Escalades there is NO clock in the navigation radio.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
