Subject: | Auto Volume Inoperative After Ignition Key Is Cycled |
Models: | . |
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms in the PI.
Owners may notice that after the ignition key is cycled the "Auto Volume" feature is inoperative even though, the feature is still on. The radio stores the memory for the Auto Volume. At start up, the radio sends a class 2 message to amplifier to turn on "Auto Volume". Due to a software concern the amplifier does not receive the class 2 message from the radio, in turn the "Auto Volume" feature is disabled. If the "Auto Volume" button is cycled off and then back on, the radio will resend the class 2 message to the amplifier, and the "Auto Volume" feature will turn on.
At this time there is no repair for this concern. If the owner would like the feature on they will have to cycle the "Auto Volume" button off and on after each ignition cycle.
