Preliminary Procedures

1. Using a J 25070 or equivalent, in a circular motion, remove the old decal from both lower door panels.
2. Remove all adhesives as follows:

•	For metal body panels use a 3M Scotch Brite® molding adhesive remover disc, 3M P/N 07502 or equivalent.

•	For plastic panels use a lint-free cloth with Varnish Makers and Painters (VMP) Naptha or a 50/50 mixture, by volume of isopropyl alcohol and clean drinkable water to remove left over adhesive.

3. For the final preparation prior to application of the new decal, refer to Graphics/Decals/Emblems.

HYBRID Lower Door Decal

Tip
The lower door decal is serviced as one part.

Preliminary Procedures

1. Heat the decal using a J 25070 or equivalent, 152 mm (6 in) from the glass surface.
2. Apply the heat using a circular motion, for about 30 seconds.

Notice: Refer to Exterior Trim Emblem Removal Notice in the Preface section.

3. Remove the decal from the surface using a plastic, flat-bladed tool.
4. Remove all adhesive from the surface using a 3M™ Scotch Brite molding adhesive remover disk, 3M™ P/N 07501, or equivalent.
5. Clean the surface using 3M™ General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner, P/N 08984 or equivalent.

HYBRID Liftgate Glass Decal

Tip
The liftgate glass decal is serviced as one part.

Preliminary Procedures

1. Heat the decal using a J 25070 or equivalent, 152 mm (6 in) from the glass surface.
2. Apply the heat using a circular motion, for about 30 seconds.
