LABOR TIME GUIDE REVISION MICROFICHE UPDATE

A MARCH REVISION TO THE 1983 LABOR TIME GUIDE MICROFICHE HAS BEEN PUBLISHED. THE (3/83) REVISION SUPERSEDES THE PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED 1983 LABOR TIME GUIDE DATED 1/83. ALL TIME CHANGES, TEXT CHANGES, AND NEW OPERATIONS ARE "FLAGGED" WITH CHANGE INDICATORS AS DESCRIBED IN THE LABOR TIME GUIDE FOREWARD (FRAME A-3). DEALERS SHOULD RECEIVE THIS REVISION BY MARCH 16.

A NEW OPERATION HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR THE V8-6-4 (CODE 9) ENGINE THIRD GEAR SWITCH. OPERATION T6067 "SWITCH, THIRD GEAR (V8-6-4) REPLACE", WITH A TIME ALLOWANCE OF .6 HOUR FOR C-CARS AND .2 HOUR FOR E/K CARS, CAN NOW BE USED. THIS OPERATION IS COVERED BY THE ENGINE VALUE PROTECTION WARRANTY AND WILL HAVE A POLICY CODE "V".

A "V" POLICY CODE HAS ALSO BEEN ISSUED FOR THE V8-6-4 FUEL PUMP RELAY (OPERATION J5460). BOTH THESE CHANGES ARE NOW IN EFFECT AND WILL BE INCLUDED IN OUR NEXT 1981 LABOR TIME GUIDE MICROFICHE UPDATE.

1982 LABOR TIME GUIDE OPERATION J6130 "PIPE, AIR CHECK VALVE TO MANIFOLD REPLACE" HAS BEEN INCREASED FROM .2 HOR TO 1.3 HOURS.

DURING THE MONTHS OF JANUARY AND FEBRUARY, WE HAVE RECEIVED 63 REQUEST FOR REVIEW LETTERS - 37 IN JANUARY AND 26 IN FEBRUARY. OF THESE REQUESTS, 32% RESULTED IN A TIME ALLOWANCE "INCREASE" AND 6% RESULTED IN A "NEW OPERATION" BEING ADDED TO THE LABOR TIME GUIDE. OUR MOST ACTIVE ZONE WAS LOS ANGELES WHO SUBMITTED 19% OF THESE REQUESTS.

THE "HONORARY MENTION AWARD" GOES TO BAILEY CADILLAC IN CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS. THEIR REQUEST RESULTED IN THE NEW "THIRD GEAR SWITCH" OPERATION AND THE "V" POLICY CODES, MENTIONED ABOVE FOR THE V8-6-4 ENGINE, BEING ISSUED.
