VALUE PROTECTION PLAN ADMINISTRATION

TO ENSURE CONTINUED PROPER ADMINISTRATION OF THE VALUE PROTECTION PLAN, THE FOLLOWING DETAILS OF THE PROGRAM ARE BEING REPUBLISHED FOR REVIEW BY ALL DEALER SALES AND SERVICE PERSONNEL:

1. CADILLAC VEHICLES THAT ARE IDENTIFIED, ADVERTISED, OR DESCRIBED BY A PARTICIPATING DEALER AS BEING ELIGIBLE UNDER THE VALUE PROTECTION PLAN MUST FIRST BE INSPECTED AND RECONDITIONED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPLICABLE VEHICLE RECONDITIONING PROCEDURES FURNISHED BY CADILLAC. THE DEALER CERTIFIES THAT SAID VEHICLE HAS BEEN INSPECTED AND RE- CONDITIONED BY SIGNING THE VPP "APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION" FORM WHEN ENROLLING THE VEHICLE IN THE PROGRAM.

NOTE: UNCOMPLETED CAMPAIGNS MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO REGISTERING A VEHICLE IN THE VALUE PROTECTION PROGRAM.

2. THE SIGNED INSPECTION FORM MUST BE AVAILABLE IN DEALER FILE AT ALL TIMES. DO NOT FORWARD TO CENTRAL OFFICE.

3. THE VPP REGISTRATION FORM SHOULD BE MAILED TO THE CADILLAC WARRANTY ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT WITHIN 30 DAYS OF THE DATE OF SALE. THE APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETE, ACCURATE AND LEGIBLE OR IT WILL BE RETURNED. ALL SUCH RETURNS SHOULD BE PROMPTLY RESUBMITTED ONLY AFTER

6. REPAIRS SHOULD BE PERFORMED UNDER THE VPP PROGRAM ONLY WHEN THE OWNER FURNISHES AN IDENTIFICATION CARD OR A COPY OF THE REGISTRATION FORM INDICATING THE EFFECTIVE DATE TO BE LESS THAN 60 DAYS PRIOR TO THE WORK DATE. IF THE REGISTRATION FORM IS PRESENTED, A PHOTOCOPY SHOULD BE ATTACHED TO THE REPAIR ORDER TO SUBSTANTIATE THE VALIDITY OF THE REGISTRATION.

7. CLOSE ADHERENCE TO THE TYPE OF WORK COVERED UNDER THE VPP PROGRAM IS ESSENTIAL. ATTACHED IS A DETAILED LIST OF COMPONENTS COVERED UNDER THE TERMS OF THE PROGRAM. PLEASE NOTE THAT DIESEL INJECTION PUMP, NOZZLES AND HIGH PRESSURE LINES ARE NOW COVERED UNDER VPP AFTER EXPIRATION OF THE EMISSION WARRANTIES. REPAIRS TO THESE COMPONENTS WITHIN THE 5 YEAR/50,000 MILE WARRANTY PERIOD (10 YEARS/100,000 MILES ON CALIFORNIA DIESELS) SHOULD BE SUBMITTED AS A REGULAR WARRANTY CLAIM, NOT VPP (CLAIM TYPE E) SINCE THE DEDUCTIBLE WOULD NOT APPLY. 4. THE GREAT MAJORITY OF REJECTED APPLICATIONS ARE CAUSED BY INVALID V.I. NUMBERS. THEY SHOULD ALWAYS BE DOUBLE CHECKED FOR ACCURACY. ALSO REVIEW THE FOLLOWING ITEMS IN ORDER TO MINIMIZE RETURNS:

EFFECTIVE DATE OF SERVICE AGREEMENT BEGINNING ODOMETER MILEAGE DEALER CODE NUMBER OWNER'S NAME AND ADDRESS INCLUDING ZIP CODE

NOTE: FLORIDA DEALERS MUST ALSO INDICATE PROPER REGISTRATION FEE IN APPROPRIATE AREA ON FORM.

5. THE VPP CORRECTION FORM IS TO BE USED ONLY FOR CORRECTIONS THAT ARE REQUIRED AFTER THE ORIGINAL APPLICATION HAS BEEN PROCESSED. CORREC- TION FORMS ARE INCLUDED WITH THE REGISTRATION KIT (CAT. NO. VPP-110).

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
