We have recently purged from the campaign data base all records for the following campaigns:
77-E-3 80-E-1 81-E-1 82-C-4 83-C-3 79-E-2 81-C-1 82-C-1 82-E-1 83-C-4 80-C-1 81-C-2 82-C-2 83-C-1 83-C-5 80-C-2 81-C-3 82-C-3 83-C-2
These campaigns involve certain 1976-1983 model vehicles, some of which may still require modification. However, the Vehicle Information Service System (VISS) will no longer display these campaign numbers even though a campaign correction is still needed. Therefore, when an older model vehicle is brought in for service, dealers should be cognizant of these campaigns and check underhood for the appropriate Campaign Completion Label.
If a label cannot be found or if there is any doubt whether or not a required campaign has been previously completed, dealers are to complete the work as per the appropriate Dealer Product Campaign Bulletin.
Any questions regarding campaign administration should be directed to your Cadillac District Service Manager.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
