GROUP 10 BODY MISCELLANEIOUS ITEMS

1. REPAIR OF BRUISES OR WHITE STRESS MARKS ON POLYPROPYLENE BODY PARTS - ALL MODELS AND YEARS

IF POLYPROPYLENE PARTS ARE FOUND TO HAVE BRUISES OR WHITE STRESS MARKS, THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE SHOULD BE USED BEFORE ANY ATTEMPT IS MADE TO PAINT OR REPLACE THE PART.

USING A 750DEG HEAT GUN AND A SLOW CIRCULAR HAND MOTION, APPLY HEAT TO THE AFFECTED AREA. BRUISES OR WHITE STRESS MARKS WILL GRADUALLY DIS- APPEAR. CARE MUST BE EXERCISED SO PLASTIC DOES NOT LOSE ITS PATTERN OR GRAIN FROM USE OF EXCESSIVE HEAT.

2. FLUIDIC WINDSHIELD WASHER NOZZLE SHIMS - 1981 "E/K" AND ALL 1982 CARS

FLUIDIC WASHER NOZZLES WHICH SPRAY FLUID TOO LOW OR TOO HIGH ON THE WINDSHIELD CAN BE ADJUSTED USING WEDGE-TYPE SHIMS. THESE SHIMS ARE TO BE INSTALLED AT THE NOZZLE MOUNTING BRACKET AND ARE AVAILABLE FROM GMWDD.

THE PART NUMBERS FOR THESE SHIMS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

1981 AND 1982 "E/K" 25509650 1982 "C" 25509649 1982 "J" 10018029

* MAY HAVE SHIM(S) INSTALLED IN PRODUCTION.

3. PULSE WIPER SYSTEM SERVICE - 1981 AND 1982 (EXCEPT CIMARRON)

A REVISED PROCEDURE HAS BEEN DEVELOPED FOR REMOVING AND INSTALLING THE PULSE WIPER SYSTEM RELAY, TERMINAL BOARD AND TIMING SWITCH. USE THE PROCEDURE BELOW INSTEAD OF THE ONE DESCRIBED IN SECTION 2, PAGE 2-35 AND 2-24 OF THE 1981 AND 1982 FISHER BODY SERVICE MANUALS RESPECTIVELY.

REMOVAL

1. LOCATE WINDSHIELD WASHER ARMS IN THE VERTICAL POSITION. 2. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE. 3. DISCONNECT WIPER MOTOR/WASHER WIRES. ALSO, REMOVE WASHER PUMP COVER. 4. REMOVE RELAY, TERMINAL BOARD, AND TIMING SWITCH (RETAINED BY ONE SCREW). 5. DISCONNECT DELAY RELAY WIRE FROM MOTOR AT RELAY TERMINAL.

INSTALLATION

1. REVERSE REMOVAL PROCEDURE.
