Outside heated mirror repair kits are available through GMWDD. The repair kits include the mirror face and heater assembly, the face support case and all miscellaneous installation items. Part numbers are 20331258 RH (convex) and 20331259 LH.

5. CIMARRON HEADLINER HOOK AND LOOP-TYPE FASTENER

Cimarron hook and loop headliner retaining strips are retained to roof sheet metal reinforcements with screws in 1983 and late 1982. If adhesive bond does not hold fastener on earlier Cimarrons, secure retaining strips with screws.

6. INTERIOR GARLIC-TYPE ODOR - 1982 "E" AND "K" CARS

A garlic-type odor in the interior of 1982 E/K cars is caused by undercured rubber in the steering column cowl boot (PIN 1261621). Affected B.C.'s: (E) 639747-644276 and (K) 695889-698199. Fix by replacing steering column boot and lower I/P close out panels. Clean interior (particularly fabric parts and cowl insulator) with GM powered all purpose cleaner or equivalent.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
