REAR BRAKE NOISE CORRECTION INFORMATION

1983 LIMOUSINES MAY EXPERIENCE A CONDITION OF A METALLIC SCRAPING NOISE FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY DURING A RIGHT HAND TURN. THIS CONDITION MAY BE CAUSED BY THE LEFT HAND BRAKE DRUM CON- TACTING THE STATIONARY BACKING PLATE. IF YOU SUSPECT THE ABOVE, REMOVE THE BRAKE DRUM AND CHECK FOR EVIDENCE ON THE DRUM. IF INTERFERENCE IS EVIDENT, MOUNT THE DRUM IN A BRAKE LATHE AND MACHINE TO REMOVE .040" FROM SECTION A AND .10" AT A DEPTH OF .17" FROM SECTION B AS SHOWN IN FIGURE 2.
