WINDNOISE AT FRONT DOORS - SEAL PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SEALS
Some 1988 C-Cars may exhibit excessive windnoise at the front doors. This may be caused by a gap at the base of the A-pillar. This condition may be repaired by first checking both primary and secondary seal contact to the body. Also assure good seal contact to the door panel surface. If these seals are okay, use the following procedure to seal the base of the A-pillar:
l. Remove windshield reveal molding.
2. Pull back the windshield molding just past the front fender.
3. Apply 3M strip-caulk #08578 or equivalent thumb-grade sealer to the open seams at the base of the A-pillar as shown in Figures 1 and 2.
4. Repeat on the other side of the car.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
