POPPING NOISE IN FRONT DOOR (APPLY ADHESIVE)

MODELS AFFECTED: 1989 DE VILLES AND FLEETWOODS

This bulletin is being revised to include a Labor Operation for the left and right doors. Labor Operation T6415 should no longer be used. Please discard Bulletin T-90-33.

Some 1989 DeVilles and Fleetwoods may exhibit a popping noise and/or clicking noise when the front door glass is raised to within 6-1/2" from fully closed. This condition may be caused by loose rivets in the window sash channel.

To repair this condition use the following procedure:

1. Remove door trim panel.

2. Working through access hole in door inner panel, trim rubber between glass and lower sash channel flush with upper surface of sash channel.

3. Apply KEN-T Channel Grip Adhesive, P/N 40380 or equivalent, along inner surface between glass and sash channel. Refer to Figure 1.

IMPORTANT: KENT Channel Grip Adhesive will flow down between glass and sash channel.

4. Raise glass and allow the adhesive to cure for two hours before lowering glass.

For warranty purposes use Labor Operations T6431 at .4 hour for the left door and T6432 at .4 hour for the right door.
