LABOR TIME GUIDE REVISION MICROFICHE UPDATES

The June revision to the 1989 Labor Time Guide microfiche has been published. All time changes, text changes, and new operations are "flagged" with change indicators as described in the Labor Time Guide foreword (A-3). Dealers should receive this revision by June 30.

Also included with the LTG microfiche are 1989 Service Bulletin and Dealer Service Information Bulletin microfiche updates.

The following are some of the major changes in this revision:

- Elimination of tighten bolts, fasteners, fittings operations*.

- Add times for high mileage.

- Zone paint operations for Allante pearl paint deleted.

- New labor code for finesse (A0110)

* Claims for repairs, which in the past were covered by using the tighten bolt, fasteners, fittings Labor Operation should now be submitted using a regular Labor Operation for .2 hour. Example: If the oil pan was leaking and the correction was to tighten the oil pan bolts, a claim should be submitted using Labor Operation J1000 at .2 hour.

It has been brought to our attention that some requests for review have not received replies. There was a problem with the request for review system and it has been corrected. If you have submitted a request for review that has not received a reply after 30 days from submission, please resubmit that request.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
