DRIVER INFORMATION SYSTEM CONDITIONS DESCRIBED

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1989 C AND H SERIES

Two conditions have been encountered in the Driver Information System used on some 1989 Oldsmobile 88 and 98's equipped with Option U51.

Power Up Sequence

Condition: DIS display lock-up.

Service Procedures:

1. Turn ignition switch "off". 2. Remove DIS fuse No. 11 or disconnect battery. 3. Reinstall fuse or reconnect battery. Make sure ignition switch remains off until Step 3 is completed.

Low Temperature Display Flashing

Condition: Intermittent display flashing associated with low temperatures. ---------- Normal operation resumes when vehicle warms up.

Service Procedure:

Replace DIS module with new module after date code 0099.

IMPORTANT: Modules after the above date will have the internal fix for the --------- power up sequence condition.
