SERVICE GUILD: GMSPO PARTS CATALOG FUEL PUMP P/N APPL.

"E" MODELS

THE 9-88 RELEASE OF THE 1988 "E" GMSPO PARTS CATALOG LISTS THE INCORRECT PART NUMBER FOR THE REPLACEMENT FUEL PUMP. THE PART NUMBER SHOULD BE 25116161, CODE EPA, WHICH IS AN AC ROLLERVANE PUMP.

THE PART NUMBER LISTED IS AN AC TURBINE PUMP THAT WILL NOT FIT THE SENDING UNIT BECAUSE OF PHYSICAL SIZE. INITIAL PLANS WERE TO RELEASE THE AC TURBINE PUMP FOR 1989, HOWEVER A PRODUCTION CHANGE WAS MADE. PARTS BOOKS WERE ALREADY PRINTED THAT DID NOT REFLECT THIS CHANGE.

"C" AND "H" MODELS

ALL "C" MODELS HAVE THE NIPPONDENSO FUEL PUMPS. EARLY OLDSMOBILE "H" MODELS BUILT AT WENTZVILLE HAVE NIPPONDENSO PUMPS. AC ROLLERVANE PUMP WERE USED AT WENTZVILLE BETWEEN K1809867 - K1810331 FOR THE OLDSMOBILE "H" MODEL. THE BALANCE OF THE OLDSMOBILE "H" PRODUCTION USE EITHER AC TURBINE OR ROLLERVANE PUMPS FOR 1989.

PARTS BOOK (1-89) RELEASE LISTS THE FOLLOWING:

TYPE OF PUMP

1989 - "C" MODELS 25116162 AC ROLLERVANE (P/N 25116162 SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN LISTED FOR THE 1989 "C" USAGE. ALL 1989 "C" ARE NIPPONDENSO.)

1989 - "C" AND "H" MODELS 25116144 CODE CPL NIPPONDENSO

*1989- "H" MODELS 25116296 AC TURBINE (1ST DESIGN) CODE CPJ

* PARTS BOOK SHOULD HAVE 25116167 AC ROLLERVANE ALSO SHOWN (2ND DESIGN) CODE CPK

THE NEXT PRINTING OF THE GMSPO PARTS CATALOG WILL LIST THE CORRECT PART NUMBERS AND APPLICATIONS.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
