WARPED FRT. OR REAR DOOR PULL HANDLE TRIM PANEL INSERT

MODELS AFFECTED: 1986-1987 BROUGHAMS

A buckled or warped front or rear door pull handle trim panel insert (Figure 1) may be encountered on some 1986 and 1987 Broughams. This condition can be repaired by using the following procedure.

1. Remove door trim panel as specified in the 1986 Body Service Manual, page 5B-3.

2. Remove pull handle assembly.

3. Fabricate a metal bracket (33mm x 20mm x lmm) as shown in Figure 2.

4. Position new bracket over studs that attach the "crest" to the trim panel insert (Figure 3).

5. Install two small spring steel clips (PIN 9428633) over "crest" studs.

6. Reinstall trim.
