FRONT DOOR LOCK SWITCHES INOP. REPAIR-RETAINING CLIPS P/N

MODELS AFFECTED: 1986 FLEETWOOD BROUGHAM

Some 1986 Fleetwood Broughams may experience a condition where the front door lock switch falls out of the door lock escutcheon. This condition is caused by inadequate retention of the switch to the escutcheon. To repair this condition, reassemble the switch and install two retaining clips onto the escutcheon as shown in Figure 1. Retaining clips are available from GMWDD using P/N 16602550.

Switch, P/N 3080944, is no longer available from GMWDD, and has been superseded by P/N 20704901 which includes clips already installed.

Before using switches, PIN 3080944 from your current service parts stock, be sure to install retaining clips.

For warranty purposes, use Labor Operation T6169 at .2 hours for the right side door lock switch, T6170 at .2 hours for the Left side door lock switch.
