CEL CODE 44 DURING EXTENDED COASTDOWN-REPLACE PROM W/ P/N

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1986-87 CADILLAC BROUGHAM EQUIPPED WITH 5.0L ENGINE (VIN CODE Y)

Some 1986-1987 Broughams may experience a Code 44 which sets during an extended coastdown.

To repair this condition, replace the ECM PROM with the appropriate service part number listed below.

* - ECM PROM I.D. can be read with a scan tool connected to the ALDL link.

If replacing the ECM PROM does not repair this condition, proceed with Code 44 diagnosis as described in Section 6El-A of the 1986 Final Edition Fleetwood Brougham Service Information Manual.
