LOWER RAD. HOSE LEAK OR A/C COMPRESSOR BELT DAMAGE

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1986-87 FLEETWOOD BROUGHAM EQUIPPED WITH 5.0 ENGINE (VIN CODE Y)

Some 1986-87 Fleetwood Broughams equipped with a 5.OL-V8 engine may experience the lower radiator hose being damaged by the air conditioning compressor belt, or the belt being damaged from contacting the hex end of the lower radiator hose clamp screw.

A clamp and shield assembly (see Figure 1) is available from Parts and scheduled to enter production on approximately December 15, 1986.

To repair this condition, replace the original hose clamp with the following:

The clamp must be positioned as illustrated (see Figure 1) to afford the best protection for the hose and belt.
