Some 1990 Broughams may experience a condition of high speed vibration. This condition may be caused by a change in fabric suppliers at Uniroyal. This condition has been corrected, and replacement tires are available through Uniroyal. The affected tires were produced before date code 110. Date code 110 stands for the eleventh week of 1990. All tires produced on or after the 110 date code have the correct tire fabric. The serial number (i. e., AP HH UMK 110) is located after the DOT (Department of Transportation) insignia. The fist two digits designate the Uniroyal plant code. The next five digits are Uniroyal internal numbers. The date code is the last three digits of the serial number (the first two digits are the week of production and the last digit designates the year of production) for the tire. The toll-free number to Uniroyal is 1-800-231-5893.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
