TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKS AT THE VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR

SUBJECT: TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKS AT SPEED SENSOR - 4L60

MODELS AFFECTED: 1990 BROUGHAMS

This bulletin supersedes Service Bulletin T-91-4 which should be discarded. This bulletin is being revised to delete F-Car part number contained in the original bulletin.

Some 1990 Broughams equipped with the Hydra-Matic 4L.60 transmission may experience fluid leaks at the vehicle speed sensor. The leak may occur at the sensor seal to the transmission or at the electrical connector to the sensor. A new series of transmission speed sensors with improved anti-leak characteristics should be used to repair this condition; part numbers are listed below.
