This bulletin is being revised to correct a part number. The revised information will appear on an Update Bulletin. The remainder of this bulletin will not be published. Warranty Administration has been notified of all changes and the warranty claims processing system has been updated. Two conditions may be found on 1993 Fleetwoods (RWD).
The wood grain mouldings located across the top of the instrument panel (I/P) are loose and may cause a rattle.
A squeak may be heard from the steering column to I/P area caused by the rubber close out on the cluster plate contacting the steering column.
To correct these conditions use the following procedures:
Remove woodgrain mouldings by carefully prying away the bottom side to disengage clips. Remove old clips from back side of moulding and install new clips, P/N 10038190. Reinstall mouldings.

Replace the left cluster trim plate with a new one, P/N 10038190, which has a vinyl close out and will not squeak Tilt steering down and place shift lever in lowest position. Place fingers on sides of cluster plate and carefully pull plate away. Install new plate.
For vehicles repaired under warranty use:

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
