This bulletin supplements Bulletin T-88-93, Group 1. Two items should be updated:
1. 3M has discontinued making the particular model of respirator recommended under the required equipment section. The 3M nuisance level acid gas mask, P/N 09915 or equivalent, may be used instead.
2. The HVAC blower on the Eldorado, Seville, and Allante will not run with the ignition on and the engine not running. Therefore, in steps 7 and 13 of the procedure section, when servicing an Eldorado, Seville, or Allante it is necessary to enter diagnostics. Refer to Section 8D of the appropriate Service Information Manual for details. Command BCM override BS01 and select a program number of approximately 50 to enable the HVAC blower at low speed.
Please make reference to these items on your copy of Bulletin T-88-93.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
