The front and/or rear door interior pull handles could disconnect from the trim plate (refer to Figure 1) nn some 1985 front-wheel-drive Devilles and Fleetwoods. A revised roll pin (P/N 11508684) has been released for production and is currently available through the Parts Department to service vehicles experiencing this condition.
To install the now 12.7mm (1/2 in.) pin, follow the listed service procedure:
1. Remove pull handle assembly from door an dencribed in Section 5 of the Body Service Manual, (Door Trim Panel and Applique Removal).
2. Remove spring (1) from the back of door handle assembly.
3. Remove 9.5mm (3/8 in.) roll pins (2),
4. Insert 12.7mm (1/2 in.) replacement roll pins (P/N 11508684).
5. Reinstall spring.
6. Reinstall pull handle assembly onto the door.
Use the most applicable labour operation from the Canadian Labour Time Guide and claim 0.7 hours.
