Some 1985-1986 De Ville and Fleetwood models may experience an inoperative power door window due to disengagement from the window regulator assembly (the window falls into the door). This condition can result if the regulator guide block travels too far and allows the regulator tape drive to become disengaged from the window. All doors can be effected.
New design window regulators, which include a stop to prevent excessive guide block travel (refer to Figure 1), are available to repair this condition. Replace the effected window regulator assembly using the following part number information. Refer to Section 5C of the appropriate General Motors Body Service Manual for removal and installation procedures.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
