The individual power window switches are monitored and controlled by the front and rear door modules. Each passenger door window switch is mounted to the trim panel of the appropriate passenger door. When a passenger window switch is operated, the switch contacts close and the associated door control module detects ground as a specific request to move the window up or down. If conditions are correct for window operation to occur, the door control module communicates the up/down command to the power window motor and the power window motor moves the window to the desired position. This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTCs:

• | The PDM, LRDM, or RRDM must be powered. |
• | DTC B1325 Battery Voltage Out of Range, must not be current. |
The PDM, LRDM, or RRDM detects that the window switch has been closed for 30 continuous seconds.
• | When DTC B3160 is current, the appropriate door module will ignore actuation of the WINDOW UP and WINDOW DOWN inputs. |
• | When DTC B3165 is current, the appropriate door module will ignore actuation of the WINDOW DOWN input. |
• | The door control module does not detect the failure for 6 consecutive seconds. |
• | You issue a scan tool CLEAR DTCs command. |
• | After 40 consecutive warm-up cycles without failure, the history DTC will be cleared. |
Thoroughly inspect the wiring and connectors. An incomplete inspection of the wiring and connectors may result in misdiagnosis causing part replacement with the reappearance of the malfunction. If an intermittent malfunction exists, refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections .
