Circuit Description

When the content theft deterrent (CTD) system arms, and the tilt sensor is enabled, the rear integration module (RIM) receives a power-up acknowledgement from the inclination sensor via the inclination sensor enable circuit.

This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:

DTC B2923 CTD Tilt Sensor Signal Circuit

Allowable number of transitions/events exceeded

Conditions for Running the DTC

    • Tilt sensor enable
    • CTD system enable

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The RIM does not receive the power-up acknowledgement from the tilt sensor.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The RIM will ignore all inputs from the tilt sensor for the remainder of the CTD system arming cycle.

Conditions for Clearing the MIL/DTC

DTC B2923 sets when one of the following conditions occur:

    • The RIM receives a power-up acknowledgement from the tilt sensor during the next CTD system arming cycle, and the tilt sensor is enabled.
    • Clear the DTCs with the scan tool.

  1. Install the scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Verify that DTC B2923 is set.

Is DTC B2923 set as current?

Go to Inclination Sensor Inoperative

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections
