The internal amplifier circuitry is monitored for temperature. If the amplifier senses an over-heat condition higher than 95[ordm ]C (203[ordm ]F) of the internal circuitry, the amplifier will shut down until the internal circuitry cools below 90[ordm ]C (194[ordm ]F).
The following are conditions that must be present in order for the radio to enable the diagnostics:
The radio is in ACCESSORY, RUN or RAP power mode.
The ignition voltage is between 9-16 volts.
Amplifier senses an over-heat condition higher than 95[ordm ]C (203[ordm ]F) of the internal circuitry.
Amplifier mutes all speaker channels.
The condition for setting the DTC is no longer present.
A history DTC clears after 40 malfunction free ignition cycles.
The scan tool clear DTC function is used to clear the DTC.

The amplifier could operate normally at a reasonably high volume for an extended period of time. Extended use of extremely high volume, especially in warm weather conditions, may induce this DTC. Under these conditions it may be normal for this DTC to set to prevent permanent damage to the amplifier circuitry.
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.

If the TV system is used for an extended length of time, especially under the high temperature, this DTC is present. Under this condition the DTC is set in order to prevent the permanent damages to the TV antenna module, which is normal.
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.
