Causes

DEFINITION: A large engine RPM increase is noted, with no vehicle forward speed increase, during the following conditions:

    â€¢ The engine is running.
    â€¢ The transmission is in Drive range.
    â€¢ The vehicle is stopped or moving slowly.
    â€¢ The vehicle brakes are not applied.
    â€¢ The throttle is opened 25 percent or greater.

Forward Clutch Assembly

    â€¢ Damaged or worn clutch plates
    â€¢ Damaged or cut piston
    â€¢ Damaged or stuck ball check valve

Forward Clutch Sprag

    â€¢ Damaged sprag
    â€¢ Worn or pitted inner race

Fluid Pump

    â€¢ Damaged vanes
    â€¢ Missing slide spring
    â€¢ Fluid pump screen assembly plugged or damaged
    â€¢ Fluid pump rotor guide omitted or misassembled
    â€¢ Fluid pump rotor cracked or broken
    â€¢ Porosity in fluid pump
    â€¢ Fluid pump surfaces not flat
    â€¢ Excessive fluid pump rotor clearance

Low Clutch Sprag

    â€¢ Damaged sprag
    â€¢ Worn or pitted inner race
