Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.
Caution: In order to prevent SIR deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs, do not strike the door or the door pillar in the area of the side impact sensor (SIS). Turn OFF the ignition and remove the key when performing service in the area of the SIS.
- Remove the appropriate front seat. Refer to

- Remove the center console. Refer to

- Remove the front carpet retainer. Refer to
Carpet Retainer Replacement

- Remove the rear carpet retainer. Refer to
Carpet Retainer Replacement

- Remove center pillar lower garnish molding. Refer to
Lower Garnish Molding Replacement

- Remove the carpet (1,2).
Installation Procedure
Caution: In order to avoid personal injury or vehicle damage when you repair or replace the carpet, use the same thickness and material size as the original installation. Always return the carpet to the original location.
Caution: All floor pan insulator material must meet Federal Vehicle Safety Standards for flammability. Failure to do so could result in personal injury and/or vehicle damage.
- Position the front floor carpet (1,2) into place over the front edge of the rear carpet.
- Make sure the electrical connector (5) is carefully positioned under the front carpet piece.
- Align the carpet to the dash panel, rocker panel, tunnel and seat attachment areas.
- Tuck the carpet behind the tab on the HVAC duct.
- Ensure all wrinkles are removed.
- Install the center console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement.
- Install center pillar lower garnish molding. Refer to

- Install the front carpet retainer. Refer to

- Install the rear carpet retainer. Refer to

- Install the front seat. Refer to
