The sensitivity level of the air quality sensor can be changed using the scan tool. If exhaust fumes are noticed in the vehicle a more sensitive level should be selected.

The following describes the sensitivity settings to choose from:

    • Seven is the least sensitive to exhaust.
    • Six is less sensitive than 5.
    • Five is less sensitive than 4.
    • The production setting and default value is 4.
    • Three is more sensitive than 4.
    • Two is more sensitive than 3.
    • One is the most sensitive to exhaust.

Use the following procedure in order to change the sensitivity level:

  1. Connect the scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Select HVAC Module.
  4. Select HVAC Systems Automatic.
  5. Select Special Functions.
  6. Select IPM.
  7. Select Air Quality Sensor Sensitivity Level.
  8. Choose a sensitivity level from 1-7.
  9. Select ENTER to enable the new selection.
  10. When done, use the soft key to save changes.
