Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement LH2

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1334987  Size: SH
  1. Drain the coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
  3. Using the J 38185 , loosen the tension on the hose clamp and remove the radiator outlet hose from the thermostat housing.
  4. Disconnect the radiator outlet hose from the support bracket.
  5. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  6. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .

  8. Remove the engine control module (ECM) mounting nuts and reposition ECM aside.
  9. Using the J 38185 , loosen the tension on the hose clamp and remove the radiator outlet hose from the radiator.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the radiator outlet hose to the vehicle.
  2. Raise the vehicle.
  3. Important: Lubricate the inside diameters of the hoses with clean coolant prior to installation.

  4. Using the J 38185 , loosen the tension on the hose clamp and install the radiator outlet hose to the radiator.
  5. Using the J 38185 slide the clamp into the original position.
  6. Position ECM on the mounting bracket.
  7. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the ECM to mounting nuts.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  10. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  11. Lower the vehicle.

  13. Using the J 38185 , loosen the tension on the hose clamp and install the radiator outlet hose to the thermostat housing.
  14. Using the J 38185 slide the clamp into the original position.
  15. Install the radiator outlet hose to the support bracket.
  16. Install the air intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
  17. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
  2. Using the J 38185 , disengage the tension on the hose clamp and remove the radiator outlet hose from the coolant pipe.

  4. Disconnect the radiator outlet hose from the engine support bracket.
  5. Remove the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement.

  6. Object Number: 2008858  Size: SH
  7. Using the J 38185 , loosen the tension on the hose clamp and remove the radiator outlet hose from the radiator.
  8. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 2008858  Size: SH
  1. Install the radiator outlet hose to the vehicle.
  2. Important: Lubricate the inside diameters of the hoses with clean coolant prior to installation.

  3. Using the J 38185 , loosen the tension on the hose clamp and install the radiator outlet hose to the radiator.
  4. Using the J 38185 slide the clamp into the original position.

  6. Using the J 38185 , loosen the tension on the hose clamp and install the radiator outlet hose to the coolant pipe.
  7. Using the J 38185 slide the clamp into the original position.
  8. Install the radiator outlet hose to the engine support bracket.
  9. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
