DTC Descriptor
DTC P1630: CTD Learn Mode Enable
Circuit/System Description
The vehicle theft deterrent (VTD) system is incorporated within the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR). If the RCDLR has been replaced, the password must be relearned by the engine control module (ECM). If the ECM is replaced,
the replacement ECM should learn the password within a few seconds after the ignition is turned ON. This is an information code indicating that the ECM is ready to learn the VTD password.
Conditions for Running the DTC
• | DTC P1630 runs continuously once the above conditions are met for about 5 seconds. |
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The ECM remains in the password learn mode for the specified time.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
• | The ECM sends a serial data message to the instrument panel cluster (IPC) to illuminate the SECURITY indicator. |
• | The ECM will not illuminate the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL). |
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
• | The history DTC clears after 40 malfunction-free warm-up cycles. |
• | The DTC can be cleared with the scan tool. |
