CH-48027 Digital Pressure Gage

With CH-48027

    Warning: Refer to Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Warning in the Preface section.

    Warning: Remove the fuel tank cap and relieve the fuel system pressure before servicing the fuel system in order to reduce the risk of personal injury. After you relieve the fuel system pressure, a small amount of fuel may be released when servicing the fuel lines, the fuel injection pump, or the connections. In order to reduce the risk of personal injury, cover the fuel system components with a shop towel before disconnection. This will catch any fuel that may leak out. Place the towel in an approved container when the disconnection is complete.

  1. Remove the engine cover if necessary
  2. Loosen the fuel filler cap in order to relieve the fuel tank vapor pressure.
  3. Remove the fuel rail with the fuel injectors.

  4. Object Number: 1828580  Size: SH

    Warning: Wrap a shop towel around the fuel pressure connection in order to reduce the risk of fire and personal injury. The towel will absorb any fuel leakage that occurs during the connection of the fuel pressure gage. Place the towel in an approved container when the connection of the fuel pressure gage is complete.

  5. Cover the fuel rail service port with a shop towel.
  6. Connect the fuel rail service port with CH48027-3 (4).
  7. Connect CH-48027-2 (2) to CH-48027-3 (4).
  8. Route the bleed hose of the CH-48027-2 (2) into an approved fuel container.
  9. Open the valve on the CH-48027-2 (2) in order to bleed fuel in the fuel rail.
  10. Close the valve on the CH-48027-2 (2).
  11. Remove the bleed hose of the CH-48027-2 (2) from an approved fuel container.
  12. Caution: Clean all of the following areas before performing any disconnections in order to avoid possible contamination in the system:

       • The fuel pipe connections
       • The hose connections
       • The areas surrounding the connections

    Note: If release Fuel Pressure just for installing and removing Fuel Pressure Gage, no further steps are necessary.

  13. Disconnect CH-48027-2 (2) from CH-48027-3 (4).
  14. Disconnect CH-48027-3 (4) from the fuel rail service port.
  15. Remove the shop towel around the fuel rail service port and place in an approved container.
  16. Remove the fuel rail service port cover.
  17. Install the engine cover if necessary.
  18. Tighten the fuel filler cap.

Without CH-48027

  1. Loosen the fuel filler cap in order to relieve the fuel tank vapor pressure.
  2. Remove the engine cover if necessary.
  3. Remove the fuel rail with the fuel injectors.
  4. Wrap a shop towel around the fuel pressure test port and use a small flat-bladed tool in order to depress (open) the fuel pressure test port valve.
  5. Remove the shop towel around the fuel rail service port and place in an approved container.
  6. Remove the fuel rail service port cover.
  7. Install the engine cover if necessary.
  8. Tighten the fuel filler cap.
