Makes 🢒 Cadillac 🢒 2009 🢒 SLS 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 2.8L, 3.0L, 3.2L, or 3.6L 🢒 Cylinder Head Installation - Right Side

Special Tools

    • EN 46111 Crankshaft Rotation Socket
    • J 45059 Angle Meter

    Note: Ensure that the crankshaft is in the timing drive assembly position using the EN 46111 .

  1. Ensure the cylinder head locating pins are securely mounted in the cylinder block deck face.

    2. Object Number: 902817 Size: SH
  2. Install a NEW right cylinder head gasket using the deck face locating pins for retention.

    3. Object Number: 902818 Size: SH
  3. Align the right cylinder head with the deck face locating pins.
  4. Place the right cylinder head in position on the deck face.

    5. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 902819 Size: SH

    Note: DO NOT allow oil on the cylinder head bolt bosses.

    Note: DO NOT reuse the old M11 cylinder head bolts.

  5. Install new M11 cylinder head bolts.

    6. Tighten

    1. Tighten the M11 cylinder head bolts a first pass in sequence to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the M11 cylinder head bolts a second pass in sequence an additional 120 degrees using the J 45059 .
