Makes 🢒 Cadillac 🢒 2009 🢒 SLS 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 2.8L, 3.0L, 3.2L, or 3.6L 🢒 Oil Filter Adapter Replacement

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 888286 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
  2. Remove the oil filter. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement.
  3. Remove the A/C compressor and power steering drive belt. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor and Power Steering Pump Belt Replacement.
  4. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.

    5. Note:  Do not disconnect the power steering lines from the power steering pump.

  5. Remove the power steering pump bolts (1-3) and position the pump aside in order to gain access to the oil filter adapter fasteners. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement.
  6. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.

    7. Note: Do not disconnect the A/C pipes from the A/C compressor.

  7. Remove the A/C compressor bolts and reposition the A/C compressor in order to gain access to the oil filter adapter fasteners. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement.

  8. Remove the bolts securing the wire harness bracket to the oil filter adapter.

    9. Object Number: 945915 Size: SH
  9. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
  10. Remove the oil filter adapter bolts.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. Remove the oil filter adapter.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the oil filter adapter.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the bolts securing the wire harness bracket to the oil filter adapter.

    3. Tighten

        • Tighten the large wire harness bracket bolt to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).
        • Tighten the small wire harness bracket bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
  3. Install the A/C compressor with the A/C pipes to the engine. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement.
  4. Lower the vehicle.

  5. Install the power steering pump bolts (1-3). Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement.
  6. Connect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
  7. Install the A/C compressor and power steering drive belt. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor and Power Steering Pump Belt Replacement.
  8. Install the oil filter. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement.
  9. Connect the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
  10. Check and add engine oil as necessary.
