DEFINITION: Washer Always On, Headlamp The windshield washers operate normally.

Have you conducted Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Go to Step 2

Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Are the headlamp washers always ON?

Go to Step 3

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Disconnect the headlamp washer relay. Refer to Relay Replacement .

Are the headlamp washers always ON?

Go to Step 8

Connect a test lamp between battery positive voltage and the headlamp washer relay control circuit of the relay connector.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Test the headlamp washer relay control circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Do you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Check for poor connections at the headlamp washer fluid pump relay. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Check for poor connections at the harness connector of the IPM. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Repair the short to battery voltage in the control circuit of the headlamp washer fluid pump. Refer to Wiring Repairs .

Is the trouble corrected?

Replace the headlamp washer relay. Refer to Relay Replacement .

Have you finished the replacement?

Important: Always perform the setup procedure for the IPM.

Replace the instrument panel module. Refer to Control Module References for replacement, setup and programming.

  1. Reconnect all components disconnected previously.
  2. Operate the system to verify the repair.

Is the failure removed?

System OK
