Special Tools

1. Remove the bearing carrier bolts from the drive pinion cover.



2. Using J-25070 heat gun to heat around the drive pinion bearing cover to remove the drive pinion.
3. Screw the 2 bolts into the twist forcing screw holes (1) and (2).
4. Install the 2 bolts equally to push out the drive pinion bearing cover assembly.




Note: Mark or tag the shims for reassembly.

5. Remove the drive pinion cover assembly (1), shims (2) and O-ring seal (3) from the differential housing.

Discard the O-ring.




6. Remove the 8 case cover bolts (6).
7. Using the carrier cover tabs (4, 5, 7), remove the carrier cover (3) from the differential carrier (1).
8. Remove the O-ring seal (2) from the differential carrier cover (3).



9. Remove the differential assembly from the differential carrier (2).



10. Using the hammer (3) and open wrench (2), gently pry out the output shaft seal (1).



11. Install J 45008  (1) to the housing.

Note: Mark or tag on the shim and bearing race cover.

12. Place J 24433 against the J 45008  (1) and press out bearing race.



13. Remove the axle oil seal from the differential case using J 24433 and hammer and press out the oil seal.



14. 14. Install J 45008  (2) to the behind of the bearing race (3).

Note: Mark or tag the shim and the bearing race bracket.

15. Place the differential case in a press.
16. Place J 24433  (1) against J 45008  (2) and press out the bearing race.
