The express Up function of the power windows is monitored and controlled by the front and rear door modules and the individual window sensors. Each power window motor has a window sensor mounted to it. Each door module communicates with its power window sensor via the power window motor up/down command lines. The power window motors communicate with the door modules via the power window status circuit. The window sensors detect differences in the window motors electrical pulses to determine if there is an obstruction to the travel of the window glass. The power window motors will disable the express up movement of a window in the event that an object has obstructed the windows upward movement.
The power window status circuit is a unique 1-way serial data link between the door module and its power window sensor. The power window motors communicate with there associated door modules by changing the state from high to low over the power window status circuit. For more detailed information concerning power window operation, refer to Power Windows Description and Operation .
This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:
DTC B3275 Window Express UP or Down Circuit (at door)
This vehicle has DTCs which include DTC symptoms. For more information on DTC symptoms, refer to DTC Symptom Description .
DTC Symptom | DTC Symptom Descriptor |
---|---|
02 | Short to Ground |
• | The PDM, LRDM, or RRDM must be powered. |
• | DTC B1325 Battery Voltage Out of Range, must not be current. |
The PDM, LRDM, or RRDM detects that the express window switch has been closed for 30 continuous seconds.
• | The PDM, LRDM, or RRDM will disable express window functions for the effected window. |
• | All other window functions for that window will still operate. |
• | The condition responsible for setting the DTC no longer exists. |
• | You issue a scan tool CLEAR DTCs command. |
• | After 40 consecutive warm-up cycles without failure, the history DTC will be cleared. |
Thoroughly inspect the circuit and connectors. An incomplete inspection of the circuit and connectors may result in misdiagnosis causing part replacement with the reappearance of the malfunction. If an intermittent exists, refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections .
