J 44827 Transmission Cooler Quick Disconnect
Removal Procedure
Note: It is not necessary to discharge the refrigerant from the A/C system during auxiliary Transmission Oil Cooler (TOC) front line replacement.
Remove the A/C condenser mounting bolts and reposition the condenser.
- Reposition the condenser to access the auxiliary transmission oil cooler lines. Refer to
Air Conditioning Condenser Replacement.
- Disconnect the transmission oil cooler (TOC) lines from the TOC.
- Disconnect the TOC line from the TOC retainer clip (1).
- Remove the bolts that connect the TOC to the cooling fan shroud.
- Remove the LH front wheel. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
- Remove the LH front splash shield retainers.
- Remove the LH front splash shield.
- Remove the rear TOC line to transmission bolt.
- Disconnect the rear TOC lines from the transmission.
- Remove and discard the seal.
- Remove the TOC retainer bracket bolt.
- Remove the TOC lines.
Installation Procedure
- Install the TOC lines.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the TOC retainer bracket bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft)
- Install new seals to the TOC lines.
- Connect the TOC lines to the transmission.
- Install the TOC line to transmission bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft)
- Install the LH front splash shield.
- Install the LH front splash shield retainers.
- Install the LH front wheel. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
- Install the bolts that secure the TOC to the cooling fan shroud.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 6.5 N·m (58 lb ft)
- Connect the TOC line to the TOC retainer clip (1).
- Connect the TOC lines to the TOC.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft)
- Reposition and reinstall the condenser. Refer to
Air Conditioning Condenser Replacement.
